Math:
This week in math we got a new math book and have been learning how to handle remainders. It is very important to learn this because when we are in real life situations we might have a remainder.
Writing:
In writing we have been choice writing. We are also getting choice writing partners for next week. It has been a lot of fun writing what ever we chose. I know that almost everyone has just been waiting eagerly for writing time
Social Studies:
In social studies this week we are starting to rap up How We Organize Ourselves. We continuing to learn about social justice, human rights, and the freedoms we all deserve. I feel that with this unit are level of thinking has gone deeper than I think we have ever gone before.
School News:
This week we had a young audience assembly. the performers were showing as the art of Indian dance. They taught as about Sanskrit and how Indian dance express many emotions.
We also had a science class that taught us about engineers and how to build a building that is earthquake proof. We had to construct a building out of 20 straws and 40 cm of tape and we only had 15 minutes. The building had to hold marbles and stand through the she table (a earthquake simulator for smaller items). On Monday we will be building the same thing but we have a budget and we can pay for different materials.
Rhianna’s View of Week:
My highlight of the week was writing, because I got to write with my friend on the genre of my choice. I am proud of myself because this week I got a lot of work done. I would also like to thank Coco for making me laugh all week.
In all this week was filled with deep thinking, science, new learning and lots of fun. I had a blast this week and I hope that all my classmates did to!
